This Saturday is the Vermont Sales Tax Holiday!
The sales tax holiday will be the launch of our "Dog Days of Summer" promotion. Come join us for specials storewide, giveaways, refreshements, contests, raffles. You could win an iPod Touch! We will be open extended hours from 9 AM until 6 PM. All items under $2000 purchased for personal use are non taxable one day only!
We've been working hard to be sure that the store is well stocked for Saturday, but we encourage pre-orders to be sure that your dream computer is ready and waiting for you on Saturday.
Snow Leopard Workshop! Saturday September 26, 2009 4:00 PM
Snow Leopard or Mac OS X 10.6 is the next generation operating system from Apple. Snow Leopard will be a $29 upgrade for current users with an Intel Mac running Leopard. If you purchased a Mac after June 8, 2009 the upgrade is free (less $9.95 shipping and handling). The release is scheduled for next month and we're planning to offer a free workshop showing off Apple's newest cat. We do not yet have a solid release date, but are planning the workshop for Saturday September 26th at 4 PM. If you are interested in attending, please feel free to e-mail, call or come in and we'll sign you up! Again the workshop will be offered at no cost to you. We just ask that if you sign up and you're not going to attend that you let us know at least 2 days in advance.
New Website and Newsletter
Matt recently revamped our website with a clean fresh new design. Over the next few weeks we will be adding an online service checkin form and a revamped newsletter page. The online service check-in will provide a way for you to generate your repair order before bringing your computer in for service. This will hold a place for your computer in our service queue and will save you time at the counter checking in as we will already have all of your information. Of course the online service check-in will be completely optional. The traditional at the counter check-in will still be available.
Since the last newsletter we've added nearly 200 new subscribers. In order to more efficiently distribute and track our newsletters we've decided to implement Constant Contact. If you have any trouble viewing our new newsletter format, please let us know by calling or e-mailing. If you no longer wish to receive our newsletters you can unsubscribe by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of this e-mail. Newsletters are sent to those who subscribe by via our website, e-mail, paper form in our retail store or contest/giveaway entry forms.
Service Department News
At Brown Computer Solutions, we understand that it can be very difficult to be without your computer for an hour; let alone for several days. We've been working very to reduce the turnaround time in our service department and make sure that your downtime is as short as possible. Many of the more common repairs are completed on the spot within an hour of checkin. At Brown Computer Solutions, we have 5 Full Time Apple Certified technicians 5 days a week. We've increased our service parts inventory to include dozens of the most common parts needed and we're working to provide better communication with our customers throughout the repair proceess. We've also added a free loaner program available to anyone checking in a computer that was purchased at Brown Computer Solutions with an AppleCare protection plan. If you did not purchase your computer at Brown Computer Solutions with AppleCare loaner computers are available starting at just $30 for the duration of your repair.
